THE YEAR OF THE SPIRIT – NAZARETH

INTRODUCTION

The word NAZARETH in the Hebrew means: SEPARATED, CROWNED, SANCTIFIED. In spite of the meaning of the name, there was nothing dignified about that place. Because
It was not a city of great prominence at that time. In fact it was not even mentioned in the Old Testament.
Many Roman soldiers lived there and so other Jews looked upon the place as a town of compromisers and a place for consorting with the Gentiles i.e the enemies of God.
Nazareth was a conquered city, despised by Jews, the Romans and others.
God allowed our Lord Jesus Christ to be raised in this despised city so as to show His power and glory.

WHAT BROUGHT THE CHANGE TO NAZARETH
The answer is the release of the power of God

People – David/Mephibosheth – 2Sam.9
Circumstance
Demons recognizes Jesus of Nazareth –Mk.1:23-24
Sick people began to call on Jesus of Nazareth – Mk.10:47
The anointing of God flowed through Jesus of Nazareth – Acts 10:38
The Apostles Ministered in the name of Jesus of Nazareth – Acts 3:6
People received salvation in the name of Jesus of Nazareth – Acts 22:8
