Military word speaking of a soldier under the command of an officer.
To subject one’s self
A voluntary attitude of giving in, cooperating, assuming responsibility and carrying a burden.
Having respect for the role of another.
(B) FIVE(5) THINGS ABOUT SUBMISSION
Submission is not natural, it is voluntary and a learned discipline –Matth.3:15; Lu.2:51.
It is not a one –off thing. Unless you are willing to be submitted forever, your submission may not be real or complete Heb.10:6-7, John 1:35-36.
Timing and Submission are related
It’s not enough to do something right, timing has to be right too. –Mk.1:14
The ability to wait has to do with the quality of our submission e.g Moses waited on God in Egypt, – David waited for his anointing to speak by its self.
Submission will always be demanded of you in at least 3 levels Viz :-
* To an authority figure
– Jesus to God and His parents Phili.2:5-11, Lu.2:51
* To a principle
– Submission to John the Baptist
* For life
– A call for sacrifice so that another can live or have a better life – John 15:13, 2Cor.4:10-12, 2Cor.12:15.
Almost always in the New Testament when the Bible talks of submission it says “…Submit to one another …” Eph.5:21, IPet.5:5 i.e it is a give and take process, not demanded but given freely
