THE POWER OF COMMITMENT

Power of Commitment Sermon Outline

The power of commitment sermon passage Texts: Romans 12 : 1-2, Ephesians 2:10

INTRODUCTION

“A religion that gives nothing, costs nothing, and suffers nothing is worth nothing”. M. Luther.

Every great endeavor has a price tag. The greater the job, the higher the price. The price tag is known as commitment.

Commitment gets you started while others stand and keeps you going while others quit.

The outline below further expands on the power of commitment sermon.

WHY TEACH THE POWER OF COMMITMENT?

1. What you don’t teach, you can’t get. Churches can only get commitment from people if they let people know the importance of commitment. Deuteronomy 6: 6-7
2. The strength of a local assembly is not determined by members of attendance, but by how many are committed.
3. You don’t pray into leadership, you pay into leadership, and it comes through commitment to service.
4. Your master key to success in life is commitment.
5. The greatest injury you can do to yourself is not to serve in your local church. All great leaders both contemporary and in the bible were once servants or great followers.

HOW TO KNOW I AM COMMITTED

1. Sacrifice: Romans 12: 1

You make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Life is not about duration but about donation. God will not respond to your needs but your seeds. You must give up to go up. The higher the level of leadership you want to attain, the greater the sacrifice you must give. It takes commitment to be able to do this.

2. Submission:

A proud person can’t be committed.

Evidence Of Lack Of Submission
a. An independent spirit
b. Failure to admit mistakes
c. Lack of a teachable spirit
d. A rebellious attitude toward those in authority.
e. Failure to accept a lowly place.

3. Loyalty and faithfulness: 1 Cor. 4: 2

Characteristics of a faithful person:
b. He knows how to keep his mouth short (Prov. 11:13)
c. He ministers strength to his pastor and church (Prov. 13: 17)
d. He always speaks the truth (Prov. 14: 5)
e. A faithful man is a humble man (Proverb 20:16)

AREAS COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED

1. Talents
2. Time
3. Treasure

CONCLUSION

God never wastes anything. He would not give you abilities, interests, gifts, and life expenses unless he intended to use them for his glory.
