PRISCA : It Is Well – Her Faith

Topic: Her Faith

Text: 2 Kgs. 4

INTRODUCTION

As long as you are alive, the devil will throw his attacks – You can dictate what your actions and reactions will be. When God has answered your prayers don’t relax.
A victory of faith always often provokes a battle of faith in the spirit realm.
Spiritual warfare is real and it is continuous. One battle fought and won does not signify the end of warfare.

The devil does not lay down his arms. – Jesus Lk. 4:13 “…Left him for a season.” He will stage a comeback – so as children of God we should be on guard 2Pet.5:8
As for this woman, she actually witnessed the death of her child what a great trial of faith.
FOUR LESSONS FROM HER ACTION
2Kings 4:21-25 records her action. We see her great faith displayed.
She did not begin to weep and cry or shout in order to attract attention to the death of her son.
She was calm, cool and collected.

This afforded her the opportunity to think and plan her next line of action.
As a mother you can’t afford to break down when satanic arrows fly. Prov.24:10, Ps.144:12 – You are a Pillar
Pillars are unshakeable, firm solid and steady.
As a woman, you must retain faith in the face of crisis.
She knew where to go in the face of trouble – 2Kgs 4:22
She did not even border her husband with details of the incident.
She was calm and confident.
She was planned and organized.

She did not join issues with her husband.
Woman, where do you turn to in the face of trouble? – Relatives, friends prayer houses or fake prophets?
Learn to turn first and foremost to God. Hannah did this in her time of distress.
Her confession

What do you say in time of trouble?
She understood and knew timing. It was time for action not story.

One of the principles of faith is confession
Our words are powerful

With her words she was conditioning the atmosphere around her and her son for miracle – Miracle of life. Heb.11:1
If you must operate in the spirit realm you must understand this
In the spirit realm, dominion is exercised through word. Ecc.8:4
In Eph.6 the sword of the spirit (Word) is an offensive weapon.

Confession here simply means speaking words that fall in line with what the word of God says concerning you – Rom.10:8-10
Persistent Faith – This was evidence by her determination to hold on to God until she was answered. 2Kgs 4:30

How determined are you for your situation to change? – Every mother must pray the prayer that never gives up for their children, home, career, husband, marriage e.t.c.
Her faith was rewarded. – you will also be rewarded.

2 Kings 4:21-25
21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, shut the door upon him, and went out. 22 Then she called to her husband, and said, “Please send me one of the young men and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and come back.”
23 So he said, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither the New Moon nor the Sabbath.”
And she said, “It is well.” 24 Then she saddled a donkey, and said to her servant, “Drive, and go forward; do not slacken the pace for me unless I tell you.” 25 And so she departed, and went to the man of God at Mount Carmel.
So it was, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to his servant Gehazi, “Look, the Shunammite woman!

Luke 4:13
Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time.
1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour
Prov 24:10
10 If you faint in the day of adversity,
Your strength is small.
Ps 144:12
2 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth;
That our daughters may be as pillars,
Eccl 8:4
Where the word of a king is, there is power;
And who may say to him, “What are you doing?”

Rom 10:8-10
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
