FULFILLED WORD – Integrity of the Word (continued)

TOPIC: Integrity of the Word (cont)

TEXT: Isaiah 55: 6 – 13; Psalm 119: 89 – 91

GOD WATCHES OVER THE PROMISE

Later the word of the Lord came to him in a vision saying “Fear not Abram”. God went on to complicate things by illustrating that his descendants will be as numerous as the stars in the heavens

Genesis 15: 1 – 6

1. After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not,
Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
2. And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward
of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
3. And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is
mine heir.
4. And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but
he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
5. And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if
thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
6. And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

GOD’S PROMISE IS INCORRUPTIBLE

The promises may appear achievable by available human efforts but God does not need help to fulfill His promise

Psalm 12: 6

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times

Genesis 16: 1 – 4

1. Now Sarai Abram’s wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian,
whose name was Hagar.
2. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray
thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened
to the voice of Sarai.
3. And Sarai Abram’s wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years
in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.
4. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived,
her mistress was despised in her eyes.

At the age of 99 God appeared to Abram and declared; “I am the Almighty God (Jehovah El-Shaddai), walk before me and be thou perfect” and God changed his and his wife’s names in readiness for the COVENANT phase

Genesis 17: 1 – 8, 15 – 19

1. And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said
unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
2. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
3. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
4. As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
5. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a
father of many nations have I made thee.
6. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come
out of thee.
7. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their
generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
8. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all
the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

15. And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but
Sarah shall her name be.
16. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a
mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
17. Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born
unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
18. And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
19. And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

HIS PROMISE IS FOR AN APPOINTED TIME

Habakkuk 2: 2 – 3

2. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that
he may run that readeth it.
3. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it
tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry

God personally visited Abraham to announce the imminent fulfillment of His promise ignoring the challenge of unbelief that was to be expressed by Sarah and it happened according to the set time

Genesis 18: 1, 10 – 15

1. And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the
heat of the day;

10. And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy
wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
12. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure,
my lord being old also?
13. And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety
bear a child, which am old?
14. Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according
to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

HIS VISITATION BRINGS THE FULFILLMENT

Genesis 21: 1 – 5

1. And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
2. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had
spoken to him.
3. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him,
Isaac.
4. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
5. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him

NOTHING SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE / ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE

Luke 1: 34 – 37

34. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
35. And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the
power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be
born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
36. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
37. For with God nothing shall be impossible

Mathew 19: 25 – 26

25. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
26. But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all
things are possible.

Mark 9: 21 – 23

21. And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
22. And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou
canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
23. Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

GOD’S ABSOLUTE WILL IS AN OVERRULING FACTOR

Mark 14: 36

36. And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt

INTEGRITY SITS ON THE PLATFORM OF FAITH

Mark 11: 23 – 24

23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,
and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those
things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

Five parts can be clearly identified as components of the faith process:

The soul part (Psalms 37: 4 – 5; Delight thyself also in the Lord ………….)

There must be a desire

The mouth part (Isaiah 41: 21; Produce your cause saith the Lord …………)

Open your mouth and express the desire

The heart part (Mark 9: 23; Jesus said unto them, if thou canst believe …………)

Do not exercise doubt in your heart but only believe

The foolishness part (Hebrews 11: 1 – 2; Now faith is the substance of things ……………. )

Believe that ye receive them,

The manifestation part (Habakkuk 2: 3; ………… at the end it shall speak, it shall not lie …..)

Ye shall have them.

OUR TESTIMONY

A few months into our marriage it was medically established that I was unproductive. Two years of treatment by several physicians did not yield any improvement

Artificial insemination was suggested but we suspected there might be some manipulations and we decided to stand with the ability of God who calls those things that be not as though they were

Romans 4: 17

17. (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed,
even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they
were.

As was the case of woman with the issue of Blood we spent all our living on physicians to the point that we had to obtain a loan of N 3,000.00 to buy drugs for a last effort which were not eventually used because the great God had gone ahead to manifest himself as the Merciful and Gracious God

We recall our favourable visit to Pastor E A Adeboye, this visit was termed favourable because there were so many people waiting to see him but unexplainably we were ushered in to see him within a short time. The meeting was brief and the prayer was short; “This time next year you will carry your baby” And again like Sarah the Lord visited us as he has said and did unto us as he had spoken, for Bola conceived and bore Seye and we named her “Praise which in Yoruba is interpreted Iyin” which was inspired from the root word Judah – Therefore shall I praise the Lord

As we continued to remain in His presence with Heart of gratitude, praising and thanking Him for His faithfulness, He manifested once again the integrity of His word that in His presence there is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures forever, He blessed us again with Opeyemi

Psalms 16: 11

11. Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there
are pleasures for evermore.

Ephesians 3: 20 – 21

20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us,
21. Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.
Amen.
