TOPIC: Making Eternal Investments
TEXT: Lk.15:10, Rev.3:14-18
INTRODUCTION
Since this month began, we have been looking at the 5 purposes of the New Testament church with particular reference to how this is seen in The Father’s House. We have said that the purposes are:
* Worship (Exaltation)
* Fellowship (Edification)
* Discipleship (Equipping)
* Ministry (Exercise)
* Mission (Evangelism)
Please note:
* Love your neighbor as yourself is ministry especially doing so with the abilities God has given one. Luke 10:25-37
* Ministry helps us to discover, develop and deploy our gifting, potentials and acquired abilities. I Sam 2:18; 3-10; II Tim 3:16-17
* Ministry is to commence where we are. Acts 1:8
* Ministry involves service to humanity as we are equipped or directed by the Lord.
II Kgs 7: 3-11
* The most important requirement of ministry is faithfulness. I Cor 4:1
Please note, as good as faithfulness is, it can’t stand alone.
We are enjoined in II Pt 1:5 …add to your faith… We should be prepared to recognize along with our faithful service, the following 10 power principles of Christian services as out lined by W.W. Wierbbe
