ABIDE IN HIS PRESENCE

Text: Ex 33:14, Ps 23:6

INTRODUCTION

One of the things God promised the children of Israel as they moved to the Promised Land was that His presence would go with them.
You need the presence of God as you journey through life. It is considered as the single most important part of our lives.

The bible says in Him we live, move and have our being (Act 17:28). You cannot live without the presence of God.
Ps 139:7-12 you cannot hide from Gods presence, He is everywhere (God is omnipresent.

A quick inference is that we are really never alone and He shall never leave us nor forsake us. God is always looking for you..

What it means to abide in the presence of God:
Definition of Abide- (from advanced learner’s English dictionary)
Something that continues for a long time and it is not likely to change. This depicts something like a long lasting bond such as in a relationship.(Jesus said for you to be fruitful, you must abide in Him and without Him, you can do nothing.
Abide signifies a continuous uninterrupted relationship for it to be meaningful but you must make the first move by drawing near to God and He will draw near to you(Jas 4:8)
You are Gods temple, and God, and His spirit has His permanent dwelling in you. Therefore you must not take God for granted. (1Cor. 3:16.)
Ex 3:9-11: It is in the place of abiding in His presence that God speaks to you. You are expected to take the presence into every area of your life.
As you spend time in His presence, His character comes through in your attitude and the way you think, how you respond to people and the way you handle situations.(Total overhaul of your Adamic nature occurs, a process likened to Transformation.
