WHO ARE YOU CONNECTED TO?

TEXT: Mark 3: 13-15

INTRODUCTION

In this year of supernatural lifting, there is a question that we all must answer to speed up the kind of lifting that we expect or envision.
What can I be connected to bring about my lifting this year? This kind of lifting we are talking about is supernatural – A lifting that suspends the operation of natural laws.
All you see is the hand of God at work.

WHAT IS CONNECTION?

To connect – to tie or fasten together, to establish a relationship between, to associate, to be significant or meaningful, to have or develop an understanding or rapport with
” What can I be tied or fasten to this year that will bring about my lifting
” In answering this question there are some factors to look for i.e – Whatever it is must have something to offer, must be someone higher.
e.g David Yoggi Cho – connection to mother -in-law forced, encourage and taught him to pray.
Hillary Clinton – connection to husband – made her see the inner workings of politics and now she can aspire for the Democratic ticket for presidency

WAYS OF CONNECTING

i. By Birth: – The sons of Joseph
” Manasseh
” Ephraim
– They moved from grand children level. They now had the same right with Reuben and Simeon
– Jacob put the name of Abraham and Isaac on them because he was a carrier of the name and blessings that goes with it.
ii. By decision: e.g the Shunamite Woman 2Kings 4:8-17
” Her decision came as a result of observation
” She perceived that Elisha was a man of God
” She went out of her way to make him comfortable. Vs 13 her hospitality could not go on noticed by God’s servant
That way she connected to a great source of power and the yoke of barrenness was broken forever in her life.
” Even when death came knocking – it could not take from her what her connection had fetch her. She had no relationship with the prophet but took actions that connected her to the prophet.
iii. By Relationship:- 2Kings 4:1-7 she benefited from the relationship her husband had with the prophet.
– The men that joined with David at the came of Adullam 1Sam.22:2, 2Sam.23 they has become David’s mighty men. How? By association with the anointed.

iv. By Choice – Ruth
– Famine prompts the journey of Elimelech
Death strikes 3 times
Elimelech, Mahlon, Chilion
We see here the importance of making choices
– Choices come with consequences, sometimes good, sometimes bad.
Elimelech and his sons made choices, which may have appeared to be a good business decision.
But ultimately left a wife and a widow in a strange land.
Ruth also made a choice – Ruth.1: 14-18

Her Choice
I. To go wherever Naomi goes
II. To live wherever Naomi lives
III. To make the people of Naomi her people
IV. To make the God of Naomi her God
V. To die and be buried where Naomi is buried
VI. To let nothing but death come between them.

– A choice to leave family a false religion for the true God and His family
– A choice that will provide both temporal and eternal blessings.
” Sometimes the choice is not between right and wrong, but between good and better. Yet any choice we make will be the right one if made with the word of Jesus in mind. – Matt.6: 33.
” Her lowly Service
Got permission from Naomi to let her glean -Ruth 2:2
She willing ministered to the need of her mother in law and this catapulted her to her lifting – God married to Boaz, gave birth to Obed. From nobody to somebody
– So the choice is yours whether you will just grumble and cry this year or make up your mind to get connected for your lifting.
