THE MAKING OF GENERATIONAL YOKE

Ex 20:5-6
5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. NKJV

From the above therefore, sin metamorphoses into iniquity as a result of: Hatred or Despise of God overtime as expressed in:

· As head of a family, failure to present the true God to your families –Gen.18:19. Contrast with Lev.26:37-39, Matth.23:29-35. check out Eli- 1Sam.2:27-36
· Idolatry and occult practices- these always have the future in mind
· Witchcraft Curses and wickedness
· Words & Curses Spoken. e.g
i. Rebeccah –Gen.27:13 –She never saw Jacob again.
ii. David/Joab – IISam.3:28-29
iii. The Jews – Matth.27:24-25 – Remember the uprising against them of the 1400s and the Hitler’s final solution i.e the Holocaust.
· Ungodly Oaths, dedications and perversions
· Open Doors caused by own personal sins such as: – 2Kings 5:26-27.

1995 Yitzak Rabin Israeli Prime minister gave out some part of Israeli Land to the Palestine Liberation Organization and many orthodox rabbis were not happy over this; they got together and pronounced a seldom used curse against Yitzak Rabin in front of his house in September, 1995. It was reported that on the Eve of the Yom Kippur a rabbi conveyed a minyan along with some supporters outside Rabin’s residence and invoked the angel of death to kill Rabin for handing over Israeli land to enemies. By this, he was programmed to die within 30 days. Rabin was slain 33days later
A certain family, you may call them the “royal family” of USA, have death on their trail and they have been suffering untimely death. It is like it is running in the family. The father was plotting the political lives of his children and wanted them to be winning at all costs and his made other politicians and political observers angry and they placed a curse of sudden death on them.
During the Second World War, one of them died, in 1948 another on died in a plane crash. In 1963, one was assassinated. In the late 1960s, another one was shot to death and in 1984; one was killed by drug overdose. 1997, one of them who was ten years old when his father died also died suddenly in a ski football accident and he left a son ten years old.
Two years ago another one died with his wife in a plane crash. After this last accident, Americans who do not believe curse exist are now saying the family is under curse.

The effects of curses or their consequences:
· Lost blessings, -e.g Reuben –Gen.35:22;49:3-4; Deut.33:6
· Placements of limits,
· Always coming below expectations, – Gen.49:5-7; Deut.33:8-11
· Low or poor quality of life,
· Compromise of the future and its posterity
· Repetitive patterns and vicious cycles

The Jukes-Edwards Comparison

One of the most fascinating studies I have read is the genealogical work done on the families of Jonathan Edwards and Max Jukes (a pseudonym); Edwards being the godly New England minister and Max Jukes being a criminal of the same period. The most common citing of this comparison is from Elisabeth Dodds book, Marriage To A Difficult Man – The Uncommon Union of Jonathan and Sarah Edwards.
Dodds wrote:In 1900, A.E. Winship tracked down fourteen hundred of their descendants and published a study of the Edwards children in contrast to the Jukes family, the notorious clan who cost New York State a total of $1,250,000 in welfare and custodial charges. Jukes wasn’t actually the name of the other family. The word means, “to roost,” and it was used about them because the family were social floaters, with no home or nest. They all originated with one immigrant who settled in upstate New York in 1720 and produced a tribe of “idleness, ignorance, and vulgarity.”
Max Jukes: Born 1700
A non-believer, who married a woman of like character. She lacked principle, among other indecencies, including the occult. Of their 1200 descendants –
310 were professional vagrants.
440 wrecked their lives through debauchery.
130 went to jail – 7 for murder, average sentence: 13 years.
More than 600 became alcoholics.
60 were habitual thieves.
190 became public prostitutes.
20 became tradesmen, 10 of whom learned their trade in prison.
That descendancy cost the state of New York $1,250,000.
Jonathan Edwards: Born 1703
A man of God and married to a woman of like character. He was 24 and she was 17. On their wedding night they committed their marriage to the Lord. Their descendants included:
300 clergymen – some missionaries and theological professors.
100 professors.
100 attorneys.
30 judges, 1 dean of a law school.
60 physicians, 1 dean of a medical school.
3 mayors of large cities.
60 authors of fine classics.
14 presidents of universities.
3 State Governors.
1 Controller of the US Treasury.
1 Vice-President of the USA.

‘The family’s real names were kept hidden, but Estabrook said he had confirmed Dugdale’s study and used the records to trace 2,111 Jukeses in addition to the 709 that Dugdale had described, bringing the total number of people studied to 2,820. His book, “The Jukes in 1915,” reported that 1,258 Jukeses were still alive and reproducing — at a cost to the public of at least $2 million (about $35.2 million today).’

Can A Born-Again Christian Be Afflicted by Generational Yokes?

PROVERBS 26:2 (KJV)
As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

Eccl 10:8-9
8 He who digs a pit will fall into it and whoever breaks through a wall will be bitten by a serpent. 9 He who quarries stones may be hurt by them, and he who splits wood may be endangered by it. NKJV

Gal 6:7-9
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. LAMENTATIONS 5:7 (KJV)
Our fathers have sinned, and are not: and we have borne their iniquities. ‘are not’ in the above verse means ‘are dead.’

You have forefathers that are now dead that never resolved their sin or iniquity and now you have been born to their iniquity. –Ps.51:5.’

Why
· The kingdom of GOD and darkness operate totally on “legal rights”.
· JESUS came to confirm the old testament….not erase GOD’s laws.
· The “sins of the fathers pass to the third and fourth generation” if each successive generation continues in those sins for themselves. If it stopped and didn’t re-occur after the 3rd and 4th generation…then it would be BROKEN…but that doesn’t seem to happen. These curses still continue today. – Eze.18:4
· The curses are carried out by satan…due to legal rights of breaking GODs laws. GOD himself does not do the attacking. GOD is the creator…not a destroyer. HE will allow destruction to fall on someone. …but HE himself will not harm anyone.
