HIS GOODNESS (Continued)

INTRODUCTION

Moses trying to enlist the services of Hobab the Arab, told him of God’s good commitment or word to them (Israel) and wanted this man whose name meant favoured or beloved to part take in this divine goodness to Israel.

a. What did God promise Israel? – Exo.6:6-8

i. V6. – He promised them deliverance from Egypt and all it represented to them. He said, He will :-
• Bring them out i.e. He will break the power of the slave master over them
• Rid them of the bondage i.e cause them to forget the effect of slavery and the abuse of Egypt.
• Redeem them i.e cause a ransom to be paid for them – Exo.3:20-22

ii. V7a – Make them His own people i.e
– Give them His name and they were to be called after Him- Gen.48:5, Josh.2:8-11

iii. V7b – A close continuous relationship – Not just a onetime deliverance.

iv. 8 – The gift of the Land – Settlement by His evident power – I Pet.5:10

A close look at Num.10:33-35 revealed that for this goodness to be realized, Israel must:

a) Trust in His promise – Heb.11:6
b) Be Guided by His presence Exo. 33:14-15
c) Be supported by His power Exo.6:1, Psm44:1-3.

PLEASE NOTE:

i. All these were based on God’s covenant with Abraham Isaac & Jacob and re-enacted with Moses. Exo.6:1-5

ii. They covenant was
– Unique
– Merciful
– Longstanding
By this covenant, He was obligated to:
a) Give them strength – Deut.29:5
b) Be patient with them – Psm.103:8-14
c) Preserve them in their journeys- Exo.14:13; 33:1-end.

V29 – …come with us…
Those who desire to enjoy His Goodness must:-

a) Walk in the way towards it John 8:12
b) Associate with people who are going that way
c) Be willing to minister or share same with others
– By personal invitation /persuasion to others v29,31
– Benevolence to others less privileged.Matt25:31-46; Gal 6:10

IN 2009

1)There will be great human capital needs and opportunities.
• So develop your skills and be well positioned.eg Joseph in Egypt, Peter-the fish & coin
• Be very current and well informed.
• Be a man /woman of convictions to avoid distractions

2) God will open doors to greatly bless private sector initiatives to facilitate the coming wealth transfer, so, get ready

3) Strengthen your private and corporate relationships for they will be God’s channel for the coming blessings.
– Make useful calls today – professional/ personal

4) The Political system may experience some shaking and there will most likely be some top level changes. Do not be distracted, do business in the Land.

5) The Economy may heat up, but remember what the word says – Job 5:20,22; Psm.37:19

6) Be a man of prayer and the word

7) In whatever you do remember Jesus is coming soon be prepared.
