Empowered by Christ Text: Matthew 16:6–18; Mark 3:13–15.
At the heart of every purpose-driven church and believer, lies a clear mission – a roadmap to fulfilling God’s divine mandate. In The Father’s House Church, our mission is simple yet powerful:
Empowered by Christ – Introduction
In this message, we will explore the depth and implications of this mission. Using biblical foundations, practical insights, and Spirit-led wisdom, we’ll examine how you can live out your identity in Christ with power, passion, and purpose.
“To empower you to passionately live out who you are in Christ.”
Understanding the Mission
A mission is more than a slogan—it defines how we achieve our God-given vision. So, let’s break the ministry mission into its five essential pillars:
- YOU
- EMPOWER
- PASSION
- LIVE OUT
- WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST
Each of these components forms a crucial step towards a fruitful and fulfilled Christian life.
1. YOU: God’s Focus is Personal
Firstly, God is a personal God. In His divine program, He doesn’t see crowds—He sees individuals.
Why YOU Matter:
- Matthew 18:12–14 – The Shepherd leaves the 99 to find the one.
- Luke 15:8–10 – One lost coin was worth an entire search.
- John 10:3 – God calls His sheep by name.
- Exodus 1:1–7 – One generation of individuals created the foundation for the next.
- John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world…” Yes, including YOU.
You are God’s seed for generational impact.
No matter your background, you have been placed on earth with a divine identity and assignment. Your life has the potential to spark revival, transform systems, and influence destinies.
2. EMPOWER: Equipped for Destiny
Secondly, to empower means to release knowledge, tools, and strategies that help you take control of your life and direct it toward divine purpose.
John 1:12 – “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right (power) to become children of God.”
What Empowerment Looks Like:
- Knowledge – Hosea 4:6 – “My people perish for lack of knowledge.”
- Self-control – Proverbs 16:32, 25:28
- Spiritual strength – Daniel 11:32 – “The people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.”
How Empowerment Happens in The Father’s House:
- Teaching of the Word
- Impartation of spiritual gifts and boldness
- Ministry opportunities to grow in service
- Mentorship and discipleship – Romans 1:11, 1 Corinthians 11:1
The Result of Empowerment:
Matthew 5:16 – “Let your light so shine before men…”
Acts 1:8 – “You shall receive power… and be My witnesses…”
You are empowered to shine, lead, and advance the kingdom.
3. PASSION: Fuel for Your Purpose
Thirdly, passion is the driving force behind excellence. At The Father’s House, we channel passion through Excellence, Accountability, and Righteousness (E.A.R.).
Stephen: A Model of Passionate Living
Acts 6–7 tells the story of Stephen—a deacon full of faith and the Holy Spirit.
- He served faithfully.
- He spoke boldly.
- He died courageously, becoming the first Christian martyr.
Living with Passion Means:
- Never settling for mediocrity
- Taking responsibility for your spiritual growth
- Living by godly values, even in adversity
Passion is what sustains purpose through pressure.
4. LIVE OUT: Activate What’s Within
Many Christians discover their potential but fail to develop or deploy it. Empowerment means little if it’s not put to work.
Live Out Through Three Phases:
1. Discover
Understand your spiritual gifts, personality, and assignment through prayer and study.
2. Develop
Nurture your calling through learning, serving, and correction.
John 15:1–3 – God prunes us to make us more fruitful.
3. Deploy
Use what you’ve developed to bless others and advance the kingdom.
Like Daniel in Daniel 9:1–4, let your hunger for God move you into purpose.
Living Out Means:
- Seeking God daily
- Serving people intentionally
- Growing even through correction
You are called to stir up your gifts and make impact.
5. WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST: Embracing New Creation Realities
2 Corinthians 5:16–17
"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation…"
As a believer, your identity is completely transformed. You are no longer defined by your past, family, failures, or fears.
New Creation Realities Include:
- You are righteous – Romans 5:1
- You are redeemed – Galatians 3:13
- You are a child of God – Romans 8:14
- You are more than a conqueror – Romans 8:37
The world may not fully grasp this, but it’s your job to walk it out boldly.
By faith and revelation, you must begin to operate as the royal priesthood and holy nation God has made you.
Strength Beyond Our Limits In Christ
Furthermore, life can feel overwhelming at times—like others expect us to do everything on our own. But as believers, we should not rely solely on our human strength. Christ empowers us to rise above our limitations, not just to survive, but to thrive in our calling.
That divine empowerment is what helps us achieve divine purpose, even when the odds are stacked against us.
Take Paul for example. In Philippians 4:13, he boldly declares, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This wasn’t a motivational quote—it was a lived reality.
So, Paul endured hardships, beatings, prison, and setbacks, yet never gave up. Why? Because Christ gave him strength beyond the natural.
The same is true for us. When we lean into Christ’s power, we tap into a supernatural strength that fuels us to walk confidently in our life’s journey, no matter the toughness of any challenge.
Conclusion: Empowered by Christ
Finally, everything God has called us to be and do centers around you discovering, developing, and deploying who you are in Christ. As a believer, you carry divine DNA and a mandate to empower others, live with passion, and model Christlike excellence in all spheres of life.
Confession to be empowered by Christ:
- Ask God for fresh revelation of your identity.
- Embrace discipleship and growth opportunities.
- Live with intentionality and impact your world.
Lastly, ensure your life proclaim the mission: “I am empowered to passionately live out who I am in Christ!”
