DIVINE PERFORMANCE II

Divine Performance

Divine performance passage text: Luke.1:45 & Rom.4:18-21

Luke.1:45: Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

Rom.4:18-21: v18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” 19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.

God’s ability is an established fact in scriptures and in our daily lives.

Hear this: Gen.18:14. Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Gen.21:1-3. And the Lord visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah as He had spoken. 2 For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. 3 And Abraham called the name of his son who was born to him — whom Sarah bore to him — Isaac.
Num. 23:19.”God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

Job 42:2 (NLT)”I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you.
Jer. 32:17,27-17 ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. 27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?

Matt.19:26. But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matt.28:18. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Lu.1:37 (Amp) For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

All of the nature is absolutely subject to God’s will and word

Gen.1:3.Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light

Psm.33:6-9.6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth fear the Lord; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. 9 For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.

The calming of the sea- Matt.8:26

But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

The feeding of the multitude – Matth14:20.

So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.
The walk on the sea –Matt.14:25-26
25 Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.

The coin in the fish’s mouth – Matt.17:27

Nevertheless, lest we offend them, go to the sea, cast in a hook, and take the fish that comes up first. And when you have opened its mouth, you will find a piece of money; take that and give it to them for Me and you.”

What do I mean by Divine Performance?

Divine performance speaks of the ability of God to do anything. The English Dictionary gives about seven (7) different definitions of the word performance. I will attempt to look at them one after the other.

To perform means:

1. To begin a thin and carry it to completion:

No abandon project with God
No abortion or miscarriage
No running out of strength or resources.

Ask Moses before Pharaoh (Against the Magicians –Exo.7:12;8:18-19 and The 10 plaques and distinctions -8:22;49:4,6)
In the Journey – He gave bread (manner) and meat even water in impossible situation
Their clothes and shoes did not wear out – Deu.29:5-And I have led you forty years in the wilderness. Your clothes have not worn out on you, and your sandals have not worn out on your feet.
1. He fulfilled all promised and brought them into the land of Canaan- Deu.6:23. Then He brought us out from there, that He might bring us in, to give us the land of which He swore to our fathers. Psm.44:1-3. We have heard with our ears, O God, Our fathers have told us, the deeds You did in their days, In days of old: 2 You drove out the nations with Your hand, But them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out. 3 For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, Nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, Because You favored them.

2. To take action according to a set of requirements or expectations

Ask Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego –Dan.3:16-1816 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” Prov.23:18.For surely there is a hereafter, And your hope will not be cut off.

3. To give a public presentation

God can fulfill His word that men may fear even in the most difficult circumstance
Ask the Kings Aid- IIKing 7:1-2
Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria.'” 2 So an officer on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God and said, “Look, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” And he said, “In fact, you shall see it with your eyes, but you shall not eat of it.”
Ask the Devil – Col.2:15. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

4. To enact or demonstrate a skill before an audience – Ikings 18:24

Then you call on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord; and the God who answers by fire, He is God.”
Ask Israel and the prophets of Baal – Ikings 18:20-46
He hears and answers the prayers of His children.
To fulfill an obligation – Isa.49:14-16. But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.” 15 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. 16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.
God keeps His word and promises
He rebukes devourers for tithers
He heals and keeps
He honours His commitments

5. To discharge or effects a release –Isa.49:24-26. 24

Shall the prey be taken from the mighty Or the captives of the righteous be delivered? 25 But thus says the Lord: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, And the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, And I will save your children. 26 I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, And they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine. All flesh shall know. That I, the Lord, am your Savior, And your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
Ask Peter in Acts 12:1-18

6. To entertain – Rev.19:7-9

Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. 9 Then he said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!'” And he said to me, “These are the true sayings of God.”
There is a great feast and reception coming at the marriage feast of the Lamb. God has been preparing service – will you be there?
